This Career Reflections features John Becker, CDM, CFPP. His 30-year journey in senior living is a powerful reminder of where a Certified Dietary Manager, Certified Food Protection Professional credential can take you. After earning his CDM, CFPP in 2000 while working in dining services, John stayed curious and eager to make a deeper impact. Wanting to be more involved in direct resident care—even getting hands-on to track his own weights—he earned his CNA. That drive to keep learning opened door after door: he stepped into a regional role, became a Licensed Nursing Home Administrator, earned his LPN license and RAC-CT certification, and completed his Bachelor’s in Health and Human Services, all the while, working a full time job. Today, as Chief Operating Officer of a community serving over 600 residents and 500 team members, John remains a passionate advocate for lifelong learning.
