2025 Public Policy Leadership Award: Kim Schofield

The Public Policy Leadership Award recognizes a member or congressperson who has made efforts to change/strengthen public policy in the areas of nutrition, food, health care, and public health.
Representative Kim Schofield has served Georgia’s 63rd House District since 2017, representing parts of Southeast Atlanta, East Point, College Park, City of South Fulton, Hapeville, and Union City. A strong lupus advocate, she chairs the Georgia Council on Lupus Education and Awareness and was appointed by former Governor Nathan Deal. Rep. Schofield serves as Secretary of the Urban Affairs Committee and is a member of the Health, Industry and Labor, Small Business Development, and Creative Arts & Entertainment committees. She holds degrees in theology and organizational leadership. Her legislative focus includes healthcare access, affordable and housing equity, environmental justice, and workplace equity.
Kim has also worked closely with the GA ANFP chapter leadership to spearhead the bill to have the CDM, CFPP credential recognized in the State of Georgia. She has continually worked with the chapter and her state counterparts to establish the bill, endorse the CDM, CFPP, and stress the importance of having the credential recognized in the state and the foodservice operations facilities of employed credential holders.
